Tonight, Motorhead is playing in Los Angeles. Normally I’d be all over that, and even with The Leg I probably would’ve played made the extra effort to check them out. Unfortunately, they’re playing at Club Nokia, the only venue that was so particularly crappy that I swore it off. And it was a Motorhead show as well! This is the first time I can recall actively choosing not to see Motorhead. Then again, the two main reasons aren’t really in my control.

I also never mentioned Jeff Hanneman’s death. It’s a damn shame, that’s all there is to it. He was a cool guy, and a thrash mastermind. Slayer will be more of a husk than they already are without him.

Daft Punk’s new album was leaked recently, but I’m holding off on it. Seems like something I need to play in the car to get a full effect.

Also, happy birthday, me! Well, tomorrow (May Day) is the actual date. It’s a good thing Kelsey got this one out early, because who knows if I’ll be in any condition to operate machinery after tomorrow’s lunch.

We’re getting there. Right now I’m getting sleepy and I need to get to work tomorrow. So get out of here.

Well the good news is that my surgery went well and the recovery is currently going just as well. Thanks again to everyone who has expressed good vibes, thoughts and prayers. Oh my.

Bad news: I admittedly have not been using my recovery time as productively as I had wanted to, and even slacked off on the required minimum to keep the weekly gears of this thing going. And once I did do something, I gave Kelsey something fairly challenging. Coupled by the fact that we will be entering RTD.2.1 soon – where the real fun begins – we need a while to get in the zone. Artist Zone. So there won’t be a page for this week (4/17/13), and while there will be one for next week, I don’t know if I can promise if it, or the other near future updates, will be on Wednesdays. We kept up with the demands variables of both our lives and the comic for this long, but we might need a lunch break soon.

Thanks for your collective patience and interest. I promise you it’ll be worth the wait.

This weekend will be the second time I’m missing Gwar’s SoCal appearances due to my leg. Here’s hoping Friday’s surgery makes it the last.
At least tonight I will be serenaded by Jeff Goldblum and his jazz.

Going into surgery on the 12th, but that shouldn’t derail or postpone the comic. I’ll actually be taking part of the time off to research and get ahead in the script, so we could possibly even get ahead. Assuming Kelsey or the others don’t also need surgery anytime soon. Knock on wood.

Also also, new Finntroll and Kvelertak dropped recently. Both will be keeping me company in the weeks ahead.

In other news, some people from my old stomping grounds may or may not be causing a stink about a veteran member doing something with community co-created characters besides the usual self-indulgent blathering. It bothers me how much someone will bite the hand that’s trying to feed them.

Kelsey was actually done with this one way ahead of time but I totally overlooked the email. I felt like one of those incompetent people on As Soon On TV product commercials.
